Chase prints hair-height layout markers down the left margin. A naive reader merges one into the last transaction line of a page and drops that deposit. The proof fails by exactly that amount. We strip the markers and read the page again.
A scanned Chase statement often carries a vendor text layer where headings read with split letters. Those files have tied. An image-only scan goes through OCR on our server and still has to tie.
Chase Commercial statements of sixty pages and several hundred rows tie to the penny. Combined multi-account files are split, one proof per account.
